Give the boost its own part of the session

A boost that lasts twenty minutes should not be applied to an entire forty five minute session. This planner separates the boosted window from the remaining time, then compares the total XP with what your base rate would earn on its own.

A boost that ends before you do

At thirty XP per minute, a 2x boost for the first twenty minutes earns 1,200 XP. The next twenty five minutes earn another 750 at the normal rate. Total XP is 1,950, compared with 1,350 without the boost.

The additional 600 XP comes from the boosted window. A longer session adds ordinary XP after the boost expires; it does not extend the boost itself.

Enter the multiplier correctly

A double XP boost is entered as 2, not 200. The calculation starts the boost at the beginning of the session and assumes one constant base rate. Use separate calculations if several boosts start at different times.

Questions about XP Boost Planner

What if my boost lasts longer than the session?

Only the time spent playing is counted. Unused boost duration does not create XP.

Can this combine different multipliers?

It models one multiplier and one boosted window. Calculate separate periods when the multiplier changes.

Does a multiplier of 1 do anything?

It leaves the base rate unchanged, so extra XP from the boost is zero.
