Using this tool

Count stacks before you fill the bag

Item quantity and inventory slots are different things when items stack. Enter one quantity and maximum stack size pair per line, separated by a comma. The planner rounds each item type up to the slots it needs and adds those slot counts.

Two item types, seven slots

Twenty five items with a stack size of ten need three slots. Eighteen items with a stack size of five need four. Together they need seven slots, leaving three free in a ten slot inventory.

Keep item types on separate lines

A partly filled stack from one item type is not combined with another type. Each line is treated as a separate type, so two separate lines containing the same type may overstate slots if you could combine their stacks.

The model uses only the stack sizes and slot count you enter. It does not account for weight, locked slots or items that follow a different inventory rule. Add those limits separately when checking the result.

Can a stack size be zero?

No. Every item type needs a positive whole stack size.

Does it count empty slots too?

It shows either the slots remaining within your capacity or the extra slots needed beyond it.
