Nestlé brand famous all over the world will be governed by a new “separate entity”. Nestlé S.A. the majority shareholder of Nestlé Pakistan, has taken a big step in this direction.
The company has entered into an agreement with private equity house Platinum Equity to form a new joint venture that will be 50-50. New thing has been dubbed “Peranel.
Peranel will lead Nestlé global water and premium beverages segment, which has been run separately within the company. The move is said to be part of Nestlé global strategy.
The notification submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) suggests that the transaction is likely to be completed in the first half of 2027. But the process is dependent on employee consultation and appropriate regulatory approval.
The new company will oversee the activities of over 30 brands offered in 120 countries. These are all recognized brands of drinking water, like S.Several regional water brands and brands like Pellegrino, Perrier, Acqua Panna and Nestlé Pure Life.
Peranel will have its headquarters in Paris, and will be run by Muriel Lienau, the current chief executive of Nestlé waters and premium beverages business.
Nestlé Pakistan has also issued a statement on the deal. It says its local water operations are a part of this global deal, but definitive agreements and local regulatory approvals will be needed to implement it in Pakistan.
Nestlé Pakistan has only planned to introduce a local entity and the company has announced that it will make further announcements when there is any major change in the future.
As part of the joint venture, the objective is to create an independent entity that will help bring the company to the global water and high quality beverage market faster, and will leverage on both partners expertise, said Nestlé.
