A new free mod for PC players has been released and it is titled “The Chamber of Secrets.Now a new free mod has been released and has been added to CurseForge, its name is “The Chamber of Secrets”. It is a whole new dungeon based around the site renowned for its appearance in the second Harry Potter novel and film.
The mod is developed by these 4 community developers: maxshig_dev, KBNGaming2, Tayra and Dyserina. Already over 13,000 downloads on CurseForge (since going live).
According to the novel, Salazar Slytherin constructed the Chamber in the medieval age. His descendant, Tom Marvolo Riddle aka Lord Voldemort opened it centuries later in the 40s.
The world is already filled with plenty of iconic features, such as Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, the Forbidden Forest and even the Hufflepuffs Azkaban. The Chamber of Secrets was not originally packaged with the game.
The creators claim that the mod will take the player deep under the castle, to a dark, story driven dungeon. It said to be a location “not designed to conceal a monster, but to contain, test and destroy one.
Players battle through the old sewers, creature-ridden tunnels and forlorn Slytherin sanctums. As it goes, the dungeon makes its own disturbing discovery. Confrontation with a basilisk of the events hidden Hogwarts.
For those who want to see it more than once, the mod also has unique scenes based on which Hogwarts house the player is in. It is designed for advanced characters, as to the difficulty of the contents.
Mod version of the Chamber not exactly the same as the books. The Chamber opening dates back only “once before” Harry time of the original story, so it is an updated version and does slightly alter (but by no means break) established lore.
There been no letdown in the reception. It has one of the best community-made pieces, particularly in the absence of any official sequel content in the game at present.
Players must fast travel to the Lower Grand Staircase and then head down from there, roughly where it is mentioned in the books and movies. The mod is not available on consoles, so a working PC version of Hogwarts Legacy will be needed.
It type of content mod is only possible since January 30th, 2025, when Warner Bros. Games announced official support for modding the game for Hogwarts Legacy on PC with its Hogwarts Legacy Creator Kit. That update gave players the ability to create custom skins, dungeons, and complete quests.
The sequel is unrevealed and unconfirmed in any depth, Hogwarts Legacy 2 has been in development and fans have suggested that we might eventually see an official version of the Chamber in the sequel.
