The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has started a new online system to help develop hockey players in the country again.
National Hockey Portal will help identify and train young players from schools across Pakistan. The Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) and the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) helped get it started.
The portal will link public and private schools directly to the PHF talent scouts. It is part of a bigger plan to bring back Pakistan national sport by focusing on younger players.
The idea is to create a clear path for young players, from school teams to the national team. The PHF plans to give hockey equipment to 1,000 schools across the country.
Schools that sign up for the portal won’t get equipment. They will get help with coaching, training advice, and chances to go to talent scouting events and player development programs.
PHF officials say the program is about giving everyone a fair chance. It is meant to help talented boys and girls from all provinces, regions, and districts develop their skills and maybe even play for Pakistan someday.
The technology behind the portal does more than register players. It will allow the PHF to maintain a detailed record of new players and track their progress.
The PHF is asking provincial governments, education departments, schools, and private institutions to sign up their schools as soon as possible. The federation believes that working together is key to getting more people involved and building a strong group of future players.
This new initiative is based on plans the PHF announced earlier this year. In May, PHF president Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani said they planned to start hockey activities in about 1,000 schools, focusing on boys and girls aged 10 to 12.
That earlier announcement was driven by the same long-term vision behind the current portal launch. Wani mentioned at the time that truly reviving the sport would require well-organized youth development programs, not just quick fixes.
This effort fits with a larger coaching program the PHF started called the National Hockey Coaching Initiative 2026. That program included plans for a new National Under-15 Hockey Championship set for November 2026. All these actions show a coordinated, multi-year strategy to rebuild Pakistan hockey talent from the school level, instead of relying on small, temporary programs.
The PHF, IPC Ministry, and PSB have once again committed to bringing back Pakistan hockey legacy through this national effort focused on young talent. The digital portal now acts as the central system connecting schools, players, and coaches.
