how to apply for pera jobs

PERA conducts all its recruitment activities online and has announced multiple recruitment drives in 2026 for different jobs, including Investigation Officer, Enforcement Officer, Sergeant and other administrative/office related posts. The application process is similar for every specific position for which you are applying.

A Quick Note on Current Openings

PERA has a number of recruitment drives and these have different deadlines and number of vacancies depending on the round and position. You should check the live listings posted on the Punjab Job Portal or on the official website of PERA before applying, to ensure that you are applying to the correct job openings and closing dates.

    Where PERA Jobs Are Advertised

The two official channels for all PERA recruiting are:

    • The portal of the province for government job applications is Punjab Job Portal, which can be found here: jobs.punjab.gov.pk
    • The official website of PERA is at pera.punjab.gov.pk where there are current vacancies and links to the Job Portal for real applications.

Applications are not accepted by email, walk-in submission, or through any third-party recruitment site. If you come across a site other than these two asking for documents or payment.

    A Step-by-Step Application Process

how to apply for pera job

Step 1: Register on the Punjab Job Portal

    • Visit jobs.punjab.gov.pk.
    • Click Sign Up.
    • Register using your CNIC, a working email address, and your mobile number.
    • Verify your account through the confirmation link or code sent.

You should use an email address and phone number that you receive correspondence regularly as most information about your application, test and roll number slips will be sent this way.

    Step 2: Complete Your Profile

    • Log into your new account.
    • Enter the details of your education (Matric and Intermediate) as well as any other post-secondary education that applies to the position you are applying for.
    • Add your personal information as prompted.
    • Complete any digital verification steps required to activate full access to the application form.

Step 3: Select and Apply for the Position

    • Look for the particular vacant position or job in the PERA, for instance, Sergeant (BS-07) or other positions that are at present being advertised.
    • Review the eligibility criteria listed for that specific position carefully before applying.
    • Click Apply and complete the position-specific application form.

Only one application for post. If information does not match or if there is missing information, the application may be rejected at the time it is verified.

If a physical or written test is required, the candidates whose documents are being passed through initial verification are issued an Online Challan and Identification slip for the test.

    • Find your PSID (Payment Slip ID) in the Saved Jobs section of your Punjab Job Portal account after applying.
    • Open your mobile banking app.
    • Navigate to Payment Option > Payment Service > 1Bill Service > PSID > Payment.
    • Complete the payment using the PSID provided.

Be sure to bring your payment confirmation as you might need to show it in conjunction with your identification slip on test day.

The actual physical requirements may differ based on the ad posting so check on the current requirements posted for your desired position that these are the same across all rounds.

    Eligibility Basics That Generally Apply

    • Punjab domicile is required for these positions.
    • Merit is prepared on a district cadre basis, and posting is typically within or near your domicile district, though this can vary by role.
    • Both male and female candidates are eligible for positions where specified in the official advertisement.
    • Educational qualifications for posts range from Intermediate for posts such as a Sergeant up to a Bachelor degree or higher for the administrative and officer level posts.

    After You Apply

    • Document verification takes place after submission.
    • Eligible candidates receive notification of their challan fee and test details through the portal.
    • Physical and/or written tests are scheduled for uniformed and select other roles.
    • Always check Punjab Job Portal and the official PERA website for further information regarding test date, roll number slips and further instructions as they are not sent proactively at all times.
